![]() In a manner of speaking it does, but only when talking esoterically. I assumed that a Poser file would have a MacOS. The easy solution, and one many Poser content providers have adopted, is to include both. rsr file with Mac versions of their products. DAZ sells Mac versions that have the pict resource in the resource fork of the file itsef. This only occurs on the Mac when a user purchases or downloads a PC Poser set. You cannot assume that a Mac version of a Poser file would have a PC. How quickly they forget (or I do, either way). Someone at the newsgroups mentioned Carbon Resource Manager API, but still waiting for a response as to whether or not the Carbon API will work on a native OS9 system. ![]() The main problem is that C4D C++ plugins are CFM libs that work on OS9, so OSX solutions in CW are useless (PowerPlant, Cocoa). ![]() I would rather the user not have to do something ‘special’ to have this functionality. rsr file in Windows was not too difficult). Interesting workaround, but I am in the process of figuring out how to open and read the resource fork on MacOS (parsing a. I forgot to mention that the Greenbriar tools are $250 and developement has been discontinued. But once done, they can be re-used for all the other similar bone structure type Poser sets. it is necessary to complete the weight maps by hand. The shortcomings of Greenbriar tools is the importation of the weightmaps. Directly Import Poser PZ3 / PZZ / CR2 / CRZ / PP2 / PPZ / HR2 / HRZ files into Cinema 4D. But you can also import a pre-built Poser animation. And you can then create the animation from scratch inside Cinema. The Greenbriar tools let you bring in a complete set and not use Poser at all. using Poser to pose and animate, using C4D to render. Interposer requires going back and forth between C4D and Poser5 just like the old ProPack plugin. InterPoser is great for just bringing in an obj from a pz3 file with all the textures intact. InterPoser works with exported obj files and re-constructs the links to all the textures in Cinema. It creates a full pose morph interface in the Attributes Manager with Mocca installed. It also has a clothing conformer plugin, morph to. It allows for new morph target creation and export back into Poser for Poser content developers. It brings in all the bones, with weight maps, morphs, textures poses, full body morphs and animations. These morphs would be about 1.2 gigabytes in Cinema, but Cr2MorphLoader compresses the morph targets. The Cr2Loader suite of tools will bring in all the morphs from a set like Victoria or Michael 3. But without a png file in the folder InterPoser will not show a thumbnail.Ĭan someone tell me please what is the difference between this plugin and the greenbriar plugin? Poser 5 will rebuild and place new png files into the c42 folder even after i delete them. I don’t have a problem with this but your less technically inclined customers might object. So at the very least it would be nice if InterPoser could read jpeg thumbnails. (a direct cr2 resource to png conversion doesn’t work properly all the time). After running Maconverter in Classic mode, launch Graphic Converter, convert the cr2 pict resource to jpeg, the run it again to convert the jpegs to png since Interposer doesn’t read jpeg. Or else you’ll have to instruct your Mac users to buy Graphic Converter and download the free MaConverter utility. So the Pict Resource problem will have to be solved for the Poser Runtimes feature to work properly on a Mac. But you can’t expect all your Mac customers to now how to do this or to pay for a special utility like I did. I used Graphic Converter to extract the pict resource and make png files for the thumbnails. Need to gain more Mac programming experience here as well as a proper testing bed. That has been fixed and patiently await a favorable load of the plugin. License key test code was still in place for the commercial version (since I can only test in a demo C4D MacOS version). I take it that there are special OS-related access methods for reading these hidden resource forks?Īcmepixel and tcobb, I have resolved the issue (hopefully) of the non-showing plugin. It took many reads of the Apple developer information on reading resources to understand how to parse them correctly on Windows. This resource fork thing is very disconcerting.
